Hello lovely DELTA lot!
I ran the British Vitality 10k in London back on Sunday July 13th 2015.
It was such a brilliant day with perfect weather. London is really quite hilly in places, being from Oxford I’ve never noticed this before, but certainly did when I was running up them! The course took us around loads of famous central landmarks, Piccadilly Circus, St James’, The Ritz to name a few. This was a very nice distraction!
I enjoy running immensely and run as often as I can. Raising money for DELTA and running was a really pleasing combination. Whenever it felt challenging I thought about the difficulties my daughter has come up against and how brave and strong she has been to overcome these. I also thought about the wonderful people that support Matilda on her journey and it gave me inspiration and strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
I completed the run in 1 hour 1 minute which was great. I have set a personal challenge to complete the course next year in under an hour.
In the future, I hope to run the London Marathon and would love to do it while raising money for DELTA.
Thanks from DELTA
Jill Blackburn raised £1,500 and her friend Robert Poulter raised £500 when they ran for us in the British 10k in July.
A big thank you to Jill and Robert. It was wonderful to meet you and that you could see what a difference your money makes!
